10 Ways To Hit Your Daily Step Goal(and how to get paid to do it!)

*This post is NOT sponsored! These are apps that I use and love. I am however sharing my referral link so we can both get points!*

One of the major things I’ve realized since I started working from home this month is that I have to work way harder to hit my step goal. Honestly, I’ve only hit it a few days a week since the change. Before I was working on my feet for 7 hours a day so 10,000+ steps a day (my step goal is set at 11,500) was a piece of CAKE. Now I look at my Fitbit in the evening and cringe at the fact that I only have 2k steps😳

I’ve started to make more of an effort this last week to hit my step goal every day. Spoiler alert: I’m definitely still having days where I don’t hit it but I’m working on it!

Get paid to walk?!

One of the things motivating me right now is that I need money. Don’t we all? I signed up with the website MyAchievement.com quite a while ago and use to check it religiously but didn’t for a while. Now that I’ve started checking it again I’m super motivated to hit and go above my goals!

MyAchievement is a website/app that pays you to do things like walk, drink water, track your food, track your heart rate, etc. I have my Fitbit connected so as I walk and track my water intake and all that, I get points. When you have 10,000 points you can cash out for $10. Luckily, once your tracker is connected, it will keep tracking whether you keep checking back or not. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Fitbit, they are also compatible with other trackers! So all that time when I wasn’t checking the website for my progress? Yeah, I was still racking up points.

More steps = More points = More money!

  1. Every 10-15 minutes get up and walk a lap around your home/work space.
  2. Walk your dog(or your neighbor’s dog)
  3. Jump on a trampoline(Mini or regular)
  4. Dance Party
  5. Pace. Okay, this one might sound weird but I have a habit of just pacing around my basement while listening to music.
  6. Run or walk (treadmill, outside, elliptical, etc.)
  7. Walk up and down each aisle of the grocery store, even if you don’t need anything in that aisle.
  8. Step in place while brushing your teeth, looking through the pantry, watching tv, etc.
  9. Stay hydrated aka continue to fill up your water cup/bottle throughout the day. Walking to and from the water will get you steps and tracking your water as you drink it will get you points. (Note: You only get 6 points for water per day no matter how many times you track it)
  10. Park at the far end of the parking lot and walk in.

One more thing…

If you shop at Walgreens they also have a fitness rewards program! You can connect your Fitbit or other tracking device to your account on their website and earn up to I think it’s 1,000 points a month. Super helpful!

Now get stepping and make yourself some extra cash😉
